Family Law Attorney

The Family Law Attorney will have at least three (3) years of experience as a Family Law Attorney. Family law practice areas include dissolutions, relationship agreements, custody/visitation issues, support disputes, and property division. The Family Law Attorney should have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, excellent research and writing skills, and experience in drafting settlement proposals, pleadings, discovery requests, requests for order, and trial briefs. This is a very fast paced environment, and the Family Law Attorney must be able to multitask and manage a voluminous caseload. This role requires a self-starter who is willing and open to learning new skills as well as taking initiative and being proactive.Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:Manage client matters from start to finishCommunicate clearly with those involved in client mattersProvide excellent customer service to clientsMeet minimum billable hours requirementDrafting settlement proposals, pleadings, discovery requests, requests for order, and trial briefsAttendance in court throughout the Bay Area for appearances, hearings, trials, and settlement conferencesRequirementsEducation and ExperienceJuris DoctoratePrior experience managing client communications and expectationsExperience with LexisNexis and/or Westlaw, Dissomaster, Xspouse, Essential Forms, and law firm client management software preferred, but not requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work independently and as a teamProficiency in California Family Code, California Rules of Court, local rulesFamiliarity with San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa and/or Santa Clara Superior CourtsClient management skills from intake through resolutionPositive attitude, intellectual curiosity, dependability and self-motivated
