Leaves SpecialistContract (8-10 months)Vancouver, WAHybridPublic SectorWhat you should know: Mulberry is partnering with our client, a local public sector organization, to identify an experienced Leaves Specialist for temporary, full-time support. In this role, you will oversee employee leave programs and provide guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers on best practices and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, service-oriented, and has demonstrated experience in advising and implementing policy updates to stay aligned with evolving leave laws and regulations.A day in the life:Oversee the entire leave lifecycle, managing all documentation, eligibility, and communication in compliance with Washington state and federal regulations.Serve as a resource for supervisors, managers, and employees by explaining the relationship between leave laws, paid time off, workers' compensation, and disability benefits.Manage the provision and coordination of ADA accommodations and related resources for employees.Collaborate with the Workers' Compensation Analyst on leave and accommodation requests, as well as file maintenance.Consult with the Senior Employee Relations Analyst and legal counsel on complex leaves cases and best practices.Recommend policy updates and deliver training to stay compliant with changing laws and union agreements.Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.Your areas of knowledge and expertise:3+ years of experience coordinating and processing protected leaves and ADA accommodation requestsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent applicable experienceExperience with FMLA and Washington State Paid Family leaveDemonstrates excellent customer service, a team-player mindset, and a strong skill in counseling and guiding colleagues within the organizationWorkday or other robust capital management systems experience desired Compensation and Benefits$35-40/HR with access to benefits via Mulberry's employer of record partner.Mulberry Talent Partners is dedicated to connecting exceptional talent with exciting opportunities.
