This is a strategic role that goes beyond legal risk mitigation "” you'll partner with leadership across product, sales, and operations to help shape how our tech-enabled services scale responsibly and efficiently.While you'll touch on employment issues, your primary focus will be commercial contracts, product counseling, and regulatory strategy in a fast-moving, tech-driven environment.Your ImpactServe as the first in-house counsel, owning legal strategy from the ground upProvide guidance on product development, go-to-market strategy, and platform complianceDraft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS, vendor, and strategic partnership dealsPartner closely with product and engineering to embed legal and privacy compliance into product designMonitor evolving regulatory frameworks impacting our marketplace model and data infrastructureDesign scalable legal processes and templates that support rapid business growthAdvise the executive team on legal risk, business structuring, and strategic decision-makingWhat You BringJD and active New York bar membership9+ years of legal experience, with time spent at both a law firm and in-house (startup or growth-stage strongly preferred)Expertise in product counseling, commercial transactions, and platform complianceFamiliarity with data privacy, IP, and marketplace/regulatory issuesComfort with ambiguity and evolving business models "” startup DNA is a plusAbility to balance risk with practicality, always keeping business goals in focusStrategic thinker who enjoys being hands-on and building from scratchInterested?This search is being led by Emily Witt at Whistler Partners.
