Job Title: Mod/Severe Special Education TeacherLocation: Walnut Creek, CA - Local School DistrictAssignment Dates: August 6, 2025 - June 4, 2026Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hours/day, aligned with school bell schedule)Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Moderate/Severe Special Education Teacher to join our local school district in Walnut Creek, CA, for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about supporting students with significant needs and committed to creating an inclusive, structured, and supportive learning environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized academic instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Implement behavior support strategies and manage challenging behaviors using positive behavioral interventions.Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, general education teachers, and families.Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings.Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes student independence and growth.Qualifications:Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mod/Severe).Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities.Strong behavior management skills and a willingness to support students with behavioral challenges.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to develop and implement individualized academic and behavioral strategies.Preferred Qualifications:Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar training.Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.Schedule: Monday-Friday, following the school district's bell schedule, for a total of 37.5 hours per week.Apply today!
