Job Title: Process EngineerLocation: Fulton KYDuration: PermanentQualificationsCapable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and liftingCapable of reading, writing, and speaking EnglishCapable of operating a forklift in a safe and cautious manner, certifiedSome computer experienceStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to problem solve, interpret instructions in numerous formatsBasic math skills with the ability to use rulers, micrometers, calipers & other measuring devicesCapable of lifting up to 35lbs periodicallyCapable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Bump Cap or Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection and Disposable MaskCapable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtimeB.S degree in chemical or plastics engineering plus 5 years of hands on experience in the operation/set-up of computer programmable plastic injection molding machinesAnd a minimum of 3 years hands on processingNegative drug screen resultsWork in a safe mannerAbility to interpret work ordersResponsibilitiesReport to front line leadershipWork as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goalsDevelop & implement training programs for operators & process personnel within injection moldingEstablish, document and implement optimum processes using design of experiment and capability studies to improve productivity and reduce scrapAssist Quality in sampling new resins / colorAssist in new product & process developmentsTroubleshoot new tooling and debug moldsContinuously review set-ups and production runs to ensure efficient productivityEnsure that production jobs are running to appropriate cycle specifications for maximum yieldsAnalyze molding defects to determine the root cause and initiates material, machine, process, or tooling remediesRecommends tooling and/or machine improvements for mold repairs, processes, yields, scrap, waste, etcResponds to alarms and takes corrective action involving quality issues, processing, and/or minor machine, mold, and auxiliary equipment repairsEffectively communicate with the shift personnel in regard to part quality, equipment, special instructions, corrective action and productivityResponsible for assisting in the improvement of all production cells set-ups, including process, cycles, scrap reduction or any areas that lead to improved efficienciesCommunicates with other process technicians, shift supervisors and all technical employees on technical issuesProvide technical assistance in maintaining expected levels of productivity in order to fulfill scheduling and quality requirementsMaintains detailed information within the current reporting formats, on statistics, processes and proceduresAssists other technical personnel in the trouble-shooting process for cost effective solutionsChecks tooling, machines and auxiliary equipment to identify issues and provides work orders to appropriate support departmentsComplies with government regulations in adherence of EPA, MSDS, Lock/Out-Tag/Out and all other proper safety standardsTrains and mentors other process technicians in on-the-job mold and process routinesUpdates and maintains any and all documentation or procedure when changes occurKeeps current on new technology and developments in regards to areas of responsibility, as time allowsActively participate in production floor improvementsPerform housekeeping duties as needed or assignedMaintain lot control traceabilityControl of non-conforming productManage scrap identification & flow within productionWork and perform to ISO Standards, SOPs and established Work InstructionsUphold Quality Standards and follow the AbsolutesOther tasks as assigned
