Our client, a prestigious regional law firm in New York, is seeking an experienced Estates Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic Trusts and Estates practice group. This position offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, including public figures and multigenerational families, handling complex, high-stakes estates and trusts litigation matters.Key Responsibilities:Provide paralegal support in complex estate and trust litigation matters, including contested wills, fiduciary disputes, and probate litigation.Manage and organize case files, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice, for high-profile, confidential matters.Draft and file legal documents, such as petitions, motions, affidavits, and other pleadings.Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and expert witnesses to prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials.Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of findings related to estate laws, trusts, and probate procedures.Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and related documents for litigation purposes.Handle confidential client information, including working with public figures and their families, with discretion and professionalism.Manage and track key case deadlines, ensuring compliance with court rules and regulations.Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including calendar management and correspondence.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a Trusts and Estates practice in a Big Law or busy midsized law firm.Proven experience working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, as well as multigenerational families.Familiarity with estate litigation, including fiduciary duties, probate procedures, and estate planning documents.Experience working on highly confidential matters, including for public figures and sensitive cases.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Westlaw, and other relevant legal software.A Paralegal certificate is required (NALA or NFPA). Strong experience with case management software and litigation tools and knowledge of New York State court rules and procedures required. Compensation includes salary ($100K-140K++) plus generous benefits package.
