Job Title: Milling Machinist 3Duration: 03 months (Possibility of extension)Location: Bethpage, NYPay Rate: $39-45 Per on W2 without any benefits and holidaysJob Description: Looking for a Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.Responsibilities:• Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines (CNC) using engineering specifications and drawings.• Analyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations.• Develops programs for machining parts, tools, on numerically controlled machine tools.• Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations.• Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part.Basic Qualifications for Machinist 3:• High school degree or equivalent trade school completion• Strong working knowledge of MasterCAM software.• Strong experience working with HAAS vertical & horizontal milling machines.• Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.Preferred Qualifications for Machinist 3:• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.• Aircraft part fabrication experience.
