Overview & Benefits:The Licensing Specialist is part of the Medical Support Staff team and is responsible for data entering, gathering, and primary source verification of healthcare practitioner information, including in-depth, detailed, or challenging research of information. Primary methods of researching information include phone, fax, e-mail, and letters.Location, Hours, Hybrid Policy:Address: 5900 N Andrews Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 Hours: M-F 9-6pm or 8-5pm with opportunity to earn one hyrbid day per week after 90 daysResponsibilities:Acts as a liaison between the medical board and the provider when applying for a license, obtaining updates and reporting progressAssess state requirements, interpret licensing applications, and facilitates completion of applicationsPartner and follow up with external customers to complete the licensing processUtilize communication skills to obtain necessary documents, completion of deadlines, and partner with operations and medical staff services departmentNegotiate with licensing parties to ensure timely processingAssist in resolving licensing issues as neededEnsure providers are licensed to practice in the state they are hired to work in.Comply with operating policies and procedures including the facilitation of license requests and use of company resources.Assist with resolution of provider issues.Maintain confidentiality of all licensing and provider information.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications (External):Bachelor's Degree or experience in lieu of educationA minimum of 2 years of administrative or equivalent work experience is requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsHave strong computer, typing, and data entry skills: includes MS Word, Excel and web-based applications, internet, and database programsDetail oriented with ability to recognize vital information from verification documentsPossess proof-reading skills sufficient for auditing documentsAbility to prioritize well and meet overlapping deadlinesDemonstrate problem-solving, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning skillsAbility to consistently maintain quality and production expectationsNAMSS Certification (National Association Medical Staff Services) is a plus
