We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead and optimize procurement activities for a growing manufacturing company. This critical role requires deep knowledge of FDA-regulated products, strong experience managing perishable goods, and a proven track record in global sourcing and import logistics. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment, and who can effectively manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and continuity of supply.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for direct and indirect materials, particularly FDA-regulated, perishable goods.Manage and negotiate contracts with domestic and international suppliers to ensure compliance, competitive pricing, quality standards, and on-time delivery.Ensure all procurement activities comply with FDA regulations, cGMP standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements.Oversee the importation process, including tariff classification, customs documentation, and coordination with freight forwarders and customs brokers.Collaborate closely with Quality, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing teams to support product development and ensure seamless supply chain integration.Drive cost savings initiatives without compromising quality, service levels, or regulatory compliance.Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, audits, and business reviews; implement corrective actions as needed.Maintain accurate procurement records and forecasts in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).Lead risk management initiatives for perishable and time-sensitive materials, ensuring contingency plans are in place.Stay current with global supply trends, FDA guidance, and international trade developments affecting raw materials and finished goods.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.7-10+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industries.In-depth understanding of FDA regulatory requirements, GMP, and quality systems.Demonstrated experience managing perishable inventories with short shelf-life and temperature control requirements.Strong knowledge of global sourcing, import regulations, Incoterms, and customs compliance.Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
