Basic Function:Under the supervision of the Partners of the Firm, the Associate Attorney will assist Partners in providing legal counsel to clients. The Associate Attorney will execute all necessary legal work as directed by the Partners and help identify next steps in a case. The Associate Attorney position is instrumental in advancing cases toward an efficient resolution.Essential Duties:Prepare pleadings, declarations, memoranda of points and authorities, trial briefs, discovery requests, responses to discovery, Preliminary Declarations of Disclosure, Final Declarations of Disclosure, correspondence, document indices, bates logs, and other documentsPrepare Judicial Council formsAttend depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trialsPerform legal research on relevant case issues as needed, draft research memoranda, and advise Firm partners on research findingsCommunicate with clients via email, telephone, and/or video conferenceAssist in the organization of client files as necessaryAccurately record client work in billing softwareEfficiently prioritize and multitaskCollaborate well in a team environmentPerform well in a fast-paced environmentConsistent professional demeanorWork full-time (and some overtime) as necessary to consistently meet deadlinesMaintain regular and punctual attendance, including in-office when requestedWork professionally and cooperatively with othersComply with all Firm policies and proceduresQualifications:Bachelor's degree requiredJuris Doctor requiredMust be admitted to and in good standing with California BarExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent grammar and editing skillsOrganized and methodical, with excellent attention to detailAbility to prioritize and multi-taskExperience using law practice management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Essential Forms, Westlaw, and Sage TimeslipsThe ability to work full-time (and sometimes overtime) from the office, as necessaryAbility to sit at a desk and use a computer and telephone for prolonged hoursAbility to lift 15 poundsSalary & Benefits:Competitive salaryWork-from-home optionComprehensive medical and dental insurance (100% of premiums paid by the firm)Full premium coverage for short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) plans401(k) and profit-sharing planReimbursement for personal cell phone and home wireless expensesContinuing education opportunities, including firm-sponsored courses and eventsPaid holidays, vacation, and sick leaveHow to Apply:Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a cover letter, resume, and the contact information for at least two professional references to jgarcia@.
