Purchasing Associate (Manufacturing)

A major client of ours if looking for a Purchasing / Buyer to support their procurement operations and help drive project success. This is a fulltime permanent position paying $75K - $80K. This position is onsite in Melville, NY.What You'll DoAs a key part of our procurement team, you will:Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and contract complianceEvaluate and review incoming supplies for quality standardsIdentify and source new vendors to support evolving project needsMonitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stockMaintain accurate and up-to-date procurement recordsCollaborate closely with Project Managers, Production, and Engineering teamsSelect appropriate packaging solutions for product shipmentsCoordinate logistics and transportation, and work with warehouse teams to ensure incoming materials meet quality and quantity expectationsWhat You BringProven experience as a purchasing agent or buyer in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of materials used in production (metals, acrylics, wood, etc.)Solid negotiation skills with experience in pricing and contract termsFamiliarity with market research and procurement best practicesProficiency in MS Office; experience with QuickBooks and/or EPICOR is a strong plusExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindsetExceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
