A well-established, family-owned neighborhood restaurant in Noe Valley is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support day-to-day front-of-house operations and elevate the overall guest experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a current AGM or an experienced floor manager looking to grow into a GM role. A background in bar operations is a plus.Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & ServiceMaintain strong floor presence and lead by example in service standards.Actively assist FOH during peak hours: host, run food, bus tables, process payments, and restock.Address guest concerns with professionalism and follow up on feedback.Monitor online reviews, provide internal feedback on trends.Coordinate with BOH leadership to ensure smooth communication and timely service.Oversee customer communication channels (email/phone), ensuring timely responses.FOH Team Management & TrainingFoster a positive team culture and uphold a respectful, professional environment.Manage dress code enforcement and monitor shift communications via Slack.Track and correct timecard issues; escalate staffing or performance concerns to ownership.Ensure comprehensive training in service, food, beverage, and upselling.Conduct monthly team meetings and quarterly 1-on-1 check-ins.Review sales performance metrics weekly with ownership (guest check averages, tip percentages).Facilitate onboarding: training schedules, paperwork, compliance (e.g. Food Handler, ABC), system access (Toast, 7Shifts).Facility OversightEnforce cleanliness standards and opening/closing checklists.Coordinate daily orders for service items (glassware, paper, etc.).Report and follow up on maintenance and pest control issues.Scan and submit food invoices for accounting.Organize and schedule quarterly deep cleanings, equipment maintenance, and hauler pickups.Scheduling & Tip ManagementCreate and publish schedules in 7Shifts at least two weeks in advance.Serve as the primary contact for shift changes, PTO, and callouts.Monitor staffing levels and flag hiring needs.Manage daily or bi-weekly tip-out procedures and cash tracking.Menu ManagementEnsure daily accuracy of menus (print, POS, online ordering, website, menu boards).Collaborate with kitchen and bar leads on updates, specials, and seasonal changes.Maintain consistency in item availability and minimize errors/typos.Marketing & Community EngagementCapture photo and video content for social media use.Support monthly events such as supper clubs, large parties, and holiday specials.Assist with neighborhood event participation (e.g., wine walks).Support planning and execution of new service initiatives (e.g., future lunch service).ScheduleWednesday to Sunday, 2 PM-close (flexible)
