About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on, proactive HR Generalist to support and enhance the employee experience across our fast-growing group of companies. With over 65 team members (and growing), the HR Generalist will be our first dedicated HR hire "” building foundational systems, providing day-to-day HR support, and helping us care for and develop our people.You'll have the opportunity to shape HR processes across multiple industries while ensuring we remain compliant, values-driven, and an employer of choice.Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Lifecycle ManagementLead onboarding and offboarding processes across all entitiesSupport recruitment, job postings, applicant screening, and interview coordinationMaintain accurate employee files and HRIS dataCompliance & PoliciesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (MN & others as applicable)Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and proceduresTrack licenses, certifications, and policy acknowledgmentsEmployee Relations & CultureServe as a point of contact for employee questions or concernsSupport managers in addressing performance, discipline, or morale issuesChampion company culture and promote a positive, respectful workplaceBenefits & Compensation SupportAdminister benefit enrollments, changes, and communicationsCoordinate with insurance brokers and vendorsSupport annual reviews and compensation benchmarkingTraining & DevelopmentHelp develop onboarding guides and training plansAssist managers in tracking performance goals and reviewsIdentify areas for employee growth or training needsHR OperationsOversee workers' compensation and leave tracking (FMLA, PTO, etc.)Organize company events, recognition efforts, or wellness programsCreate reports and dashboards for leadership as neededRequirements3-5 years of experience in human resources (generalist or related role)Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practicesExcellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsHighly organized, discreet, and able to handle sensitive informationProficient in Microsoft Office and/or HRIS systems (we can train)Preferred QualificationsHR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plusExperience supporting hourly, blue-collar, and salaried workforcesExperience in agriculture, trucking, real estate, or manufacturing settingsWhat We OfferA chance to build HR from the ground up in a values-driven, entrepreneurial environmentCompetitive compensationCompany-paid benefits package (medical, dental, etc.)Generous PTO and holiday policyStrong culture of loyalty, faith, fun, and hard work
