We're assisting our client, a leading manufacturer of polyurethane-based solutions, in their search for a hands-on Production Manager to oversee daily operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating production schedules, staffing, quality control, budgeting, and process improvement while ensuring adherence to stringent safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have experience managing production teams, resolving operational issues, and optimizing efficiency across departments.Location: Mt. Airy, NC (100% onsite)Salary Range: $70,000-$95,000/yearJob Type: Direct-HireSchedule: Mon-Fri, 7am-4pmResponsibilities:Abide by, enforce, and participate in implementing and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.Direct or coordinate production, processing, distribution, or sales and marketing activities of the plant or business unit.Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff, and resolve personnel issues.Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records.Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs.Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.QualificationsBachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent; and over two (2) years up to and including four (4) years' experience leading a unit or group in a manufacturing environment; or any combination of education, experience, and training. Prefer BS in Engineering.
