Job Summary:Evapco, Inc. an employee-owned company, is currently seeking a Production Manager at our Greenup, IL manufacturing site. Our Greenup, IL site is a multi-shift facility that employs approximately 600 people and is a manufacturer of the highest quality products for the evaporative cooling and industrial refrigeration markets. The Production Manager will have 3-5 direct reports and approximately 300 indirect reports to safely produce and ship units to our customers as ordered and on time. This role will create a safe work environment and positive safety culture where safety concerns take precedence over all other issues. The Production Manager will foster a positive work environment where employees are treated fairly and held accountable. This role will ensure the right people are in the right place and provide them with tools needed to execute a production plan successfully.Essential Functions:Works collaboratively with Safety, Quality, Facilities, People Operations, and Production to ensure successful operation of the production area.Takes ownership for Safety, Quality, and Production and promotes a continuous improvement mindset in all three areas of the business. Evaluates performance of the team and adjusts personnel as needed.Provides the team with the tools and information needed to do their jobs effectively.Interviews, hires, and places new employees in the department and role that best matches their skills.Enforces workplace policies fairly and helps resolve personnel issues.Works with the shop leadership team to develop their skills.Ensures all safety initiatives, policies, and programs are being followed for a safe workplace.Ensures Evapco quality standards are upheld.Ensures all product ships on time and creates a game plan when there is a risk of late shipments.Monitors production results against weekly and monthly goals. Works with the Superintendents to adjust manpower to meet goals.Evaluates department efficiencies and looks for areas for improvement.Ensures the production area is clean and organized so that it is ready for a customer visit at any time.Provides justifications for deviations from budget.Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:Must have experience and proven ability to lead a team by maintaining a positive attitude and encouraging employee development and success.Good organizational and prioritization skills. Must be able to shift priorities to match ever-changing production needs.Must be able to take in large amounts of information and follow up on shop floor requests.Must have effective time management skills.Must be able to communicate clearly and connect with a diverse group of employees.Must have a flexible schedule to allow off-hour visits when necessary.Must be able to understand workplace protocols and address any unsafe conditions at any time.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.5-7 years of production management experience managing organizations or departments with over 100 people.Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles preferred but not required.Relevant associate or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.Typical Working Conditions:Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.Ability to work at a desk for extended periods.Ability to handle high stress situations.Ability to take calls 24/7.Ability to come in during off hours to address issues.Evapco's Summary of Pay & Benefits:The salary range consists of base pay and most recent profit sharing bonus amountsMedical, Vision, & Dental InsuranceEmployee Stock Ownership Program - we are an employee-owned companyProfit Sharing Bonus - which is paid twice per yearPretax Savings & Investment PlanPaid HolidaysPaid VacationPaid Maternity and Paternity LeaveBereavement PayCompany Paid Basic Life Insurance equivalent to base salary, with option for Supplemental Life electionSick LeaveLong Term Disability
