Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the production capabilities of the Company's generating assets, ensuring adequate generating capacity and efficient utilization of the assets and resources necessary to deliver power to Energy Services customers. Promote a safe, accident-free workplace by establishing a culture that recognizes safe practice as the norm and rejects unsafe behaviors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPlans, directs and controls operating activities so as to provide an accident-free work place, and to ensure the safety of personnel working at the production facility. This duty is performed daily.Investigates accidents, reviews accident reports and takes corrective action as required. This duty is performed as needed.Directs the operation of the generating assets to meet system demands, environmental requirements and business objectives through the coordination and scheduling of unit outages, load restrictions, personnel scheduling and utilization of resources supplied by other departments and vendors. This duty is performed daily.Ensures the safe and effective operation of equipment and ensures production interruptions are minimized. Leads and directs all operational activities in a manner that supports a commitment to customer service. This duty is performed daily.Develops leaders and employees by providing coaching, career counseling and developmental opportunities. This duty is performed daily.Provide vision and serve as a role model for leadership throughout the organization. This duty is performed daily.Demonstrates flexibility and commitment toward rotational assignments. This duty is performed daily.Directs, leads and supports continuous improvement of operating practices and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency in the utilization of the generating assets. This duty is performed daily.Assists in directing and controlling the development and implementation of the operational and investment planning process. This duty is performed weekly.Ensures compliance with regulation, reporting requirements and permits at production facilities. This duty is performed daily.Coordinates and reviews the results of testing programs for units, equipment and systems to determine optimal use and cost effective operating practices and procedures.Leads activities that continually improve the competitive position of production assets including cost and quality. This duty is performed daily.Develops and review employee's performance evaluations. This duty is performed annually.Takes an active role in managing and improving employee performance. This duty is performed as needed.Directs the development of procedures and systems which monitor individual performance, establish goals for operating efficiency and effectiveness and manages attainment of these goals. This duty is performed monthly. Ensures uniform application and consistence of Company policies and procedures for production personnel. This duty is performed daily. Establish training objectives for the production personnel and provide opportunities to ensure production personnel are properly trained. This duty is performed monthly.Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 9 to 10 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceWORKING CONDITIONSPeriodically exposed to such elements as noise, intermittent standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting; but none are present to the extent of being disagreeable.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThe following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
