GSE Mechanic

GSE Mechanic responsible for routine maintenance as well as minor/major repairs of ground equipment and automobiles. Responsibilities may include repairing and overhauling ground support equipment, performing troubleshooting of ground support equipment, maintaining equipment in a safe condition, performs preventative and routine maintenance servicing, keeping tools and support equipment in safe and operational working conditions, keeping work areas clean and free of hazards.What does a GSE Mechanic do?Must possess a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and/or industrial powered systems.Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools. Starts devices to test their performance. Lubricates and cleans parts. May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Must be attired in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials and identification badges must always be visible.Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective manner.Comply with all safety requirements to include only using equipment that you have been trained on, immediately reporting unsafe conditions and workplace injuries, wearing proper PPE, and attending required safety training.Perform other duties as requested.What skills are required to Join the Team?Must be 18 years of age or older2 years of mechanic experienceMust have a Driver's LicenseMust Have Own ToolsASE Certification (2-3, Master ASE not required)Must submit to and pass a drug screen and background checkAll applicants must consent to and pass a drug test as part of a conditional job offer. -REQUIREDMust meet all requirements to obtain an airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including successfully completing a background check and ten-year work history.Must have a reliable mode of communication and transportationLanguage Skills:Ability to communicate effectively in the English languageAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and employee handbooksAbility to effectively present information, including in written form, and respond to questions from passengers, managers, clients, customers, and the publicMust also possess and utilize effective listening skillsWhy G2:Healthcare OptionsPTO Paid Time Off BenefitsCompany Matched 401k OptionsEmployee Discount ProgramEmployee Assistance ProgramPay: $68.00-$68.00/ HRG2 Secure Staff, LLC is a preferred provider of aviation support services to all major airlines in the United States.
