Job Title: HR Generalist - ManufacturingEmployment Type: Temp-to-PermLocation: Elmira, NYSalary: $24-$30/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM, with flexibility to cover all shifts.Reports To: HR ManagerClient Overview:Our client is a leading Global Food Manufacturer. Its facility runs on a multi-shift schedule, including a third shift. They take pride in creating a supportive and growth-oriented work environment that focuses on collaboration, care, and operational excellence.Position Summary:We are seeking a warm, energetic, and approachable HR Specialist with a strong background in recruiting and general HR operations. This individual should bring a positive attitude and care to all employees at all levels. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has advanced Excel knowledge, and is a strong communicator. Qualifications2 - 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist roleStrong recruiting experience, especially for hourly roles in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in Excel and data management.High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitaskProfessional and approachable demeanor with a strong work ethicOpen to feedback, proactive, and aligned with a collaborative cultureComfortable working in a fast-paced, shift-based production environmentBachelor's degree in HR or a related field preferredHRIS experience (e.g., ADP, UKG, or similar platforms) preferredBilingual is a plus (especially Spanish or languages spoken in the plant environment)Key ResponsibilitiesSupport full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding coordination.Participate in onboarding sessions, which include completing new hire paperwork and receiving an explanation of benefits.Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and liaise with the payroll department to address employee inquiries and concerns.Collaborate with the HR Manager and Director of Operations to support plant-wide process improvements and implement HR strategies that improve efficiency.Maintain accurate and confidential HRIS records, personnel files, and timekeeping data.Prepare reports on headcount, turnover, hiring activity, and compliance using advanced Excel functions.Support employee attendance tracking and assist supervisors in administering corrective actions.Coordinate and track training in compliance with safety, GMPs, and other manufacturing certifications.Assist in employee investigations and prepare disciplinary documentation.Track and report key HR metrics, including absenteeism, time-to-fill, and employee retention.Coordinate with staffing agencies to manage temporary workforce needs, if applicable.Help plan and support employee recognition programs, town halls, and HR-led initiatives.Assist with organizing employee engagement activities such as luncheons, appreciation days, and seasonal events.Ensure HR policies and procedures are understood and consistently applied across all shifts.Provide real-time HR support to evening and third-shift employees as needed.Remain flexible, approachable, and solution-focused"”open to learning and adapting to company culture.Required Skills & CompetenciesProficiency in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).Strong interpersonal and communication skillsRecruitment expertise skillsHigh attention to detail Emotional intelligenceTeam Player
