Job Title: Senior Credit OfficerReports to: Chief Executive OfficerJob Summary:The Senior Credit Officer serves as the Officer of the Bank who is responsible for the credit risk management of the institution as a whole. The Senior Credit Officer will ensure that the Bank's underwriting processes and loan structuring decisions reflect a commitment to strong asset quality. The Senior Credit Officer provides support for loan officers in analysis, underwriting, structuring, approval, and documentation. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:This list includes the current primary responsibilities of this position. It is not intended to be all-inclusive and is subject to change, as needed.Maintain a full understanding of the Bank's Lending Policy, applicable lending related policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines.Review financial statements, projections, models and all other relevant financial and non-financial data to aid Loan Officers and Loan Committee in credit decisions.Ensure that underwriting and loan structuring decisions reflect a commitment to strong asset quality.Monitor the financial performance of portfolio companies to include annual reviews and ongoing covenant compliance reviews, as applicable. Annual reviews on loan relationships representing approximately 70% of the bank's loan portfolio. Reviews to include relationship performance, collateral adequacy, outstanding past due exceptions, and policy compliance. Approximately, on the average, 1/12th of the required loan reviews are completed monthly with monthly and year-to-date reports provided to the Board at each Board Meeting.Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations and prescribed policies, and procedures necessary to reduce risk.Ensure risk rating accuracy and compliance with Loan Policy.Perform ongoing monitoring of loan portfolio performance and credit quality.Review remodel and construction loan advances and inspection reports on a monthly basis.Perform periodic stress-testing of selected loan portfolio segments.Additional Expectations:Participate in weekly Loan Committee meetings. Understand and communicate the Bank's story, values, Giving Vision, and the role Valor Bank serves in the community.Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree.10 years of experience in financial/ credit analysis.
