Come join our table!POSITION SUMMARYThe Safety Coordinator ensures Environmental and OSHA standards meet local, state and federal requirements. Leads local safety committee, safety meetings, hazard assessments and updates safety communications and postings.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Conduct hazard assessments, safety inspections and compliance audits to measure compliance and effectiveness.Implement safety policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Develop and coordinate Safety Awareness modules and programs to engage the workforce and enhance the awareness level to risks and safe behaviors.Develop and deliver training programs and monitor them for effectiveness, including but not limited to required OSHA training; tracks training completionConduct and direct the entire process of accident investigation/analysisAnalyze trends through root cause analysis to identify causation and risk factors to identify corrective or preventative action measuresRecord keeping / onsite logs for OSHA and Lock-out and Tag-out proceduresEnsure record keeping is in compliance is collaboration with facility safetyServe as the liaison with local, state and federal safety agenciesDepending on location: workers compensation program including agency and insurance carrier reporting, partner with the insurance carrier to ensure proper medical treatment protocol, light duty assignments, and work re-engagementOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThree (3) years' safety experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBi-lingual English/Spanish required based on locationLicense/CertificationsCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferredPreferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field with related experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA's)Ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organizationProven organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment while presenting a professional demeanorProficient with Microsoft office, including skills with Outlook, Word and ExcelAbility to work in an office and plant environment with exposure to noise, equipment and machineryDemonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writingENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS?TRAVEL NECESSARY based on location(s) supported.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSUsual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone. Depending on assigned areaUsual plant environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of machinery and equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
