Materials Manager

Their primary responsibility will be to manage material requirements and coordinate the planning, storage, and distribution of goods.Keep reading for more details!What's in it for you:Competitive hourly rate depending on experience Direct Hire position - you'll be hired on directly with our client!Amazing benefit package once hired in permanentlyMedical, Dental and Vision401KPaid vacationWhat your day will look like:Develop, implement, and manage a cross-functional, fully integrated planning process that includes scheduling, inventory management, materials handling, and forecasting.Review production requirements and engineering specifications to guide raw material procurement and budgeting.Source and negotiate with vendors to secure the best price and quality, ensuring timely delivery of ordered materials.Monitor material shipments, ensuring quality standards are met and defective items are identified and addressed.Oversee inventory levels and generate monthly inventory reports for senior leadership review.Investigate material variances by gathering data from the production team.Manage emergency material requirements by arranging prompt supply solutions.Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to resolve issues related to material costs, variances, and shortages.Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of team members.Maintain ongoing relationships with contractors to ensure supply chain continuity.Provide strategic insights and respond to inquiries from senior executives and directors regarding materials management and supply chain operations.What we are looking for:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Logistics, Material Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field5+ years of experience in materials managementStrong negotiation abilitiesProficient in planning and analyzing production department requirementsCapable of drafting precise specifications for raw materials procurementExperienced in market research, supplier evaluation, and preparing purchase order quotationsKnowledgeable in both traditional and modern inventory control techniquesAt Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
