Applied Systems Engineering Inc (ASEI), an industry leader is GPS/INS Engineering, munition design, analysis, integration and testing, is seeking a highly organized, goal-oriented machinist to join our growing organization, in our Niceville, Florida location. In this position, you will be responsible for manufacturing prototype parts, sub-assemblies and test fixtures. Rapid development programs, often 4-8 month turn-time based on complexity of design and schedule constraints. Need to be a detail-oriented individual who enjoys complex tasks and solving problems, values teamwork and collaborating with coworkers and handles pressure of deadlines to work in a small R&D machine shop. Your responsibilities will include CNC set up, adjustments and creating the CNC programs for all the parts to be manufactured, inspecting finished products and ensuring products meet all specifications. Supporting day-to-day operations by ordering supplies, performing routine maintenance, and assisting in other departmental tasks as needed. Machinist:•Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances. •Create the CNC programs.•Setting up and operating CNC machines, including entering instructions and ensuring the correct attachments are used.•Monitoring machine operations and troubleshooting any issues that arise during production•Conducting inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. •Preparing raw materials for machining, chemical coating & powder coating.•Ensuring workstations are clean and organized.•Performing general maintenance on machinery.•Fabrication, modification, and repair of parts.•Ensuring product conformance to quality standards.•Understanding of machinery operation, safety protocols, and technical drawing interpretation.•Knowledge of how to operate lathes, milling machines, drill press & metal and wood working hand tools. •Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process. •Contribute to innovation through development of creative solutions and prototypes aligned with business goals.•Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely completion of projectsASEI provides an excellent employee benefit package including highly competitive salary, bonus, safe harbor self-directed 401k, company paid group life insurance, medical and PTO, along with education reimbursement. This is an on-site position which requires periodic travel in support of programs.Education and Experience:•Minimum 10 years' experience in relevant industry•Rapid development•Cross functional/discipline collaboration•Excellent verbal and written communication skills•Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and effectively manage timeStart your journey with ASEI by sending your resumé to asei_HR@ or visit our website at to learn more about ASEI's core values, products, and capabilities. We are seeking one highly motivated individual to join the ASEI team and make a difference.
