Our extensive trusted network of quality subcontractors adds value throughout the project life cycle, while our seasoned project management teams keep project moving forward improving communication, coordination, and quality.POSITION DESCRIPTIONCivil Superintendent is responsible for the overall fieldwork on a project, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality and customer satisfaction. Direct the day-to-day coordination of all labor, equipment and subcontractors and their sub-contractors to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule. Develop, document, and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the field. Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to plan and anticipate potential problems before they arise. Obtain or verify that the subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes. Act as primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies. Establish credibility among owners, subcontractors, unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment. Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore. Coordinate and manage jobsite logistics.ESSENTIAL•Prepare for project startup with the Project Manager.•Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives. •Understand and apply the requirements in project documents with regard to quality control procedures such as testing, shop drawings, material approvals, samples, mock-ups, execution of the work, etc. •Become familiar with each job estimate for general condition items and follow the direction of the Project Manager with regard to performing work within the boundaries of the estimate.•Ensure adherence to company safety policies•Keep the Project Manager apprised of any change in activity or cost prior to incurring additional time or materials outside of the project scope. •Provide input on scheduling and placement of production crews. Plan and review the construction project with the Project Manager on a weekly basis. •Supervise the scheduling and completion of warranty issues. •Preparation of progress schedules, keep them properly updated, and ensure that everything feasible is done for the project to meet required dates. •Forecast the labor, material and equipment needs in two weeks advancement periods to ensure the project schedule is consistently being met.•Oversee field operations of earthwork/dirt work•Coordinate the activities of employees, subcontractors & suppliers•Review plans and specs as needed with the Project Manager to gain a full understanding of the project's scope•Work in collaboration with Project Manager and field personnel, to create and monitor the construction schedule to maintain the project budget•Manage and mentor field labor•Meet with owners, municipal representatives, superintendents, project managers, vendors, and other project stakeholders•Manage and coordinate the successful kick-off and completion of projects from start to finish•Work with the Safety Committee to establish and maintain good safety and security practices for the entire project in accordance with applicable safety codes and regulations. •Develop final punch lists and ensure all project tasks are completed. •Communicate ideas for improving company process with a positive and constructive attitude and developing this attitude in others.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS•A minimum of 5 to 10 years' of civil construction experience with at least two of those years being in charge of the project in the role of Earthwork Superintendent. •Experience must include soil stabilization, mass excavation, excavation of foundations, excavation of ponds and channels, new parking lot grading and clearing, underground utilities, DI Piping, Plastic Piping, MJ Fittings and accessories, Flanged Pipe and Accessories•Ability to use a laptop and company designated software on a daily basis on the job site •Experience must be on projects of $1M to $6M dollars or more or equivalent work experience.Driver RequirementNYS DOT Physical is required, as evidenced by the receipt of a NYS DOT Physical exam card.
