ABOUT THE COUNTRY CLUB OF VIRGINIA (CCV) The Country Club of Virginia (CCV), located in Richmond, VA, is one of America's oldest and most prestigious private, member-owned clubs. Currently ranked the 7th Platinum Club of America, CCV spans two campuses: Westhampton and James River, offering 54 holes of golf, extensive dining, wellness, racquet, and aquatics facilities.Westhampton Campus features a historic 70,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, a 100,000 sq. ft. Fitness/Racquet Sports Complex, a four-acre resort-style Aquatics Complex, multiple racquet courts, youth activity areas, a spa, and five dining outlets.James River Campus, seven miles away, includes two championship golf courses, a Golf Performance Center, locker rooms, boat access to the James River, and a newly renovated 36,000 sq. ft. clubhouse reopening in Fall 2025. It also hosts the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, part of the PGA TOUR Champions Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs.CCV's banquet operations generate over $4 million annually, with an average of 32 weddings and holiday events exceeding 1,000 covers. The Club is open daily, year-round, serving 8,000+ members across its premium facilities and dining venues.THE POSITIONThe Director of Banquets is an integral member of the F&B Management team responsible for the execution of around 1,800 private and member events annually. The Director will collaborate with the Special Events Office Team and manage a team of 5 direct reports with approximately 33 FTE staff, to deliver exceptional and memorable events for all.LEADERSHIP FUNCTIONENSURE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN ALL EVENTSContinue the pursuit of excellence and quality service levels for private and member events. Deliver a world-class member experience.LEAD WITH EXCELLENCEEnsure team members have all of the tools to succeed for every event. Monitor staff performance, appearance and set an example of high standards for the team. Ensure proper event coverage by means of hiring, staffing, training, and motivating a great team.ALONG WITH THE TEAM, CRAFT AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCEWork closely with the Special Events Office Team in designing room layouts, and communicating all event information to the Banquets Team. Ensure that quality standards are attained, including the physical appearance of all event spaces and work areas. Collaborate with the Banquet Chef de Cuisine to ensure accurate food service execution and timely delivery. Maintain a spotless, safe environment with top-tier, platinum-level service.ENGAGE & CONTRIBUTEActively participate in weekly meetings, training sessions, and club-wide initiatives. Take on additional responsibilities as needed to drive the club's success.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have over five years of related hospitality experience, including experience in a managerial role overseeing managers in an upscale banquet execution role. Experience in private clubs is preferred, though candidates from luxury hotels, resorts, or high-end hospitality settings are also welcome. The Club can accommodate up to 600 guests for a seated event, over 1,000 for standing.
