Rambam Day School seeks a dynamic, strategic, and collaborative professional to join our advancement team as the Director of Development. This role supports the strategic growth and development efforts of the school by leading fundraising initiatives, donor relations, community engagement, and marketing efforts. The Director of Development combines visionary program development with hands-on execution, helping to drive fundraising, alumni engagement, and donor stewardship.Working closely with school leadership, the Director of Development at Temple Beth Am, the Rambam Day School Board, and key stakeholders, the Director will play a pivotal role in executing successful campaigns, fostering alumni and grandparent engagement, and strengthening philanthropic support for the school community.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about relationship-building in an educational setting.Key Responsibilities:Fundraising & Development CampaignsAnnual Giving CampaignLead the execution of the school's Annual Fund campaign, including donor outreach, appeal creation, and stewardship efforts.Develop communication materials such as emails, letters, and social media content to drive participation.Track fundraising progress and oversee donor recognition efforts.Engage Board members in fundraising initiatives.Develop and execute strategies to expand the Annual Fund donor base, particularly focusing on gifts under $1,800.Alumni Engagement & Giving CampaignDesign and launch Rambam's first comprehensive alumni engagement program.Build and maintain a robust alumni database.Establish systems to track alumni lifecycle milestones, class notes, and relationships.Create an archival system for alumni photos, keepsakes, and mementos.Develop alumni volunteer structures, including committees and leadership opportunities.Implement strategies for regional alumni engagement, networking events, and giving opportunities.Create senior class transition programming to build alumni culture from graduation.Create classroom engagement opportunities for alumni with current students.Endowment Campaign & Legacy GivingPlay a key role in launching Rambam's endowment and legacy giving programs.Develop a compelling endowment case for support and related marketing materials.Identify and research endowment and planned giving prospects.Design stewardship strategies and events for endowment donors.Track endowment growth and impact reporting.Coordinate with planned giving professionals and financial advisors to support legacy giving efforts.Create a legacy society to recognize and steward legacy donors.Grandparent Giving & Engagement CampaignDesign initiatives to deepen grandparent involvement in school life, including Grandparents' Day and specialized giving opportunities.Advancement Calendar & Strategic PlanningMaintain the school's advancement calendar, coordinating appeals, events, stewardship activities, and marketing campaigns.Ensure advancement initiatives align with Rambam's mission and strategic goals.CommunicationsLaunch the school's first comprehensive alumni communication strategy.Create and distribute an alumni newsletter and maintain regular alumni outreach channels.Oversee the development and maintenance of an alumni community website.Design annual fund direct mail and digital solicitation campaigns.Collaborate with school leadership and marketing staff to create development and strategic planning materials.Support community-building initiatives through PATIO and parent groups.Ensure advancement messaging is consistent across platforms.Manage and update donor and alumni database records accurately.Community EngagementServe as a liaison to parents, alumni, grandparents, and community members to foster a culture of philanthropy.Plan and execute engagement events that deepen donor relationships and involvement.Work closely with PATIO and other groups to strengthen ties to the broader Rambam community.Event Planning & CoordinationPlan and execute fundraising events such as galas, donor appreciation receptions, and alumni reunions.Manage event logistics, including invitations, registration, vendor relations, and post-event follow-up.Support and coordinate volunteer committees involved in fundraising initiatives.Data Management & ReportingTrack and analyze fundraising performance across campaigns.Generate reports for leadership and the Board of Trustees.Maintain donor engagement histories and accurate gift processing records.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, education, or a related field preferred.5-7 years of experience in advancement, fundraising, marketing, or related areas (school or nonprofit experience preferred).Strong organizational, project management, and relationship-building skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with donor management software (e.g., Veracross, Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Passion for education and a commitment to Rambam Day School's mission.Work Environment & ScheduleFull-time, on-site position.Occasional evening and weekend work required for events and community engagement.Note:This role works closely with the Director of Development, Temple Beth Am to ensure alignment, coordination, and effective stewardship across shared donors and families.
