In this key role, you will be responsible for driving cost reduction initiatives,ensuring a reliable supply of quality materials, and building strong supplier partnerships.What You'll Do:Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to secure high-quality materials, components, and services at optimal costs. Identify and qualify new suppliers that align with the company's innovation and quality standards.Cost Reduction Initiatives: Drive cost-saving programs and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. Identify opportunities for cost reduction through value analysis, supplier consolidation, and process improvements, achieving measurable savings without compromising on quality.Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular evaluations, and resolve issues to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality specifications.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and Finance teams to forecast material needs, address technical requirements, and ensure procurement strategies align with product development and operational objectives.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the purchasing and procurement team (including buyers and support staff). Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability. Provide hands-on guidance and training to develop the team's skills in negotiation, sourcing, and cost analysis.Inventory & Compliance: Oversee inventory management in coordination with Operations to optimize stock levels and avoid production downtime. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and any relevant regulatory requirements.Process Improvement: Champion initiatives to improve procurement processes and systems. Utilize data and market research to drive decisions, implement best practices in supply chain management, and support the company's innovation-driven and quality-focused objectives.What We're Looking For:Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or CPM/CPSM certification is a plus). 5+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Cost Reduction Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing and implementing cost reduction strategies that achieved significant savings while maintaining quality. Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and budgeting.Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing principles, contract negotiation, and supplier management. Proven ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to the company's advantage.Leadership Skills: Experience leading a team or function, with a hands-on management style. Proven ability to mentor staff, build a positive team culture, and drive accountability and results.Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, translating procurement needs and constraints in cross-functional discussions.Technical & Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material requirements planning (MRP/ERP systems), and supply chain best practices.
