Title: Buyer / Purchasing 4Company: Fortune 100 Global Leader in Manufacturing of Construction EquipmentRate: Roughly $31/hr (W2 + Benefits) or $35/hr (C2C)Location: Mossville, IL (Onsite)SummaryIn this role, you'll play a key part in executing supplier resiliency projects and supplier performance improvements within Caterpillar's Global Electrical Components team. You will collaborate closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to manage pricing activities, supplier development, and mitigate supply chain risks for critical components.What you will do:Support supplier resiliency projects, supplier onboarding, and performance improvement initiativesCollaborate with engineering and suppliers to support quoting, development activities, and capacity planningManage supplier pricing, contract negotiations, invoice reconciliation, and ensure compliance with company procurement policiesAnalyze market trends and supplier delivery systems to assess present and future material availabilityLead vendor relationships and drive contract formulation aligned with corporate policiesDevelop and implement purchasing policies, instructions, and procedures to improve procurement operationsRole & ResponsibilitiesDrive execution of supplier risk mitigation and capacity improvement projectsAct as primary liaison between suppliers, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcingSupport supplier contract negotiation and vendor policy formulationAnalyze purchasing data to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and supplier performanceProvide reporting and analysis related to supply chain resilience and supplier performance metricsParticipate in cross-functional project meetings with engineering, finance, and procurement leadershipSkills & Qualifications (Required):Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supplier managementProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Experience with SAP and/or Lognet systemsStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsSkills & Qualifications (Desired):CPSM, CPPM, or CPP certificationsExperience with Procure platformFlexibility to attend global team collaboration meetings outside of normal work hoursSoft Skills:Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environmentStrong organizational and analytical skillsExcellent interpersonal communication skills across internal and external stakeholdersEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field requiredMinimum of 8 years relevant purchasing/supply chain/procurement experienceCertifications preferred but not required
