SMC Infrastructure Solutions seeks an experienced and proactive HR Generalist with a strong recruitment focus and deep knowledge of HR compliance. This role is ideal for a well-rounded professional who excels in full cycle recruiting while also ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies. The successful candidate will play a key role in talent acquisition, employee relations/retention, onboarding, and compliance monitoring.Key Responsibilities:Recruitment and Employee retention (Primary Focus - 50-60%):Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for various roles across departments.Partner with hiring managers to create accurate job descriptions and hiring strategies.Actively source, screen, and interview candidates using modern sourcing techniques.Maintain and optimize the applicant tracking system (ATS).Deliver excellent candidate experience throughout the hiring process.Report and iterate on recruitment KPIs including pipeline progress, time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, new hire performance, and annual churn.Compliance and General HR Functions (40-50%):Ensure company practices are compliant with ERISA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEO, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.Assist in preparing for audits and maintaining accurate documentation for legal compliance.Monitor and update HR policies to reflect legal and internal changes.Conduct new hire on-boarding with an emphasis on policy education and documentation.Support internal investigations and employee relations matters in a compliant, professional manner.Maintain employee records in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.Participate in and support the team with performance management, benefits administration, and training coordination.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.5+ years of HR experience with demonstrated strengths in recruiting and compliance.Solid understanding of employment laws and HR regulatory requirements.Experience with HRIS and ATS systems.Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity and professionalism.Preferred:PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification.Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., construction, manufacturing, finance).Familiarity with multi-state compliance or federal contractor requirements (e.g., OFCCP).Why Join Us?SMC Infrastructure Solutions is dedicated to building a collaborative, compliant, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
