General Counsel Attorney, Property and Asset ManagementPetaluma, CA 94954SUMMARY:The General Counsel Attorney will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and support on a range of issues related to property and asset management. This role will involve drafting and reviewing contracts, advising on compliance matters, managing disputes, and ensuring that all activities align with applicable laws and regulationsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Legal Compliance:Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to property and asset managementStay updated on changes in laws affecting property management practices, including landlord-tenant laws, zoning, and real estate regulationsContract Management:Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to property leasing, acquisition, management, and maintenanceDevelop and implement standard contract templates and ensure consistency in contractual agreementsDispute Resolution:Represent the company in legal disputes, including eviction proceedings, lease disputes, and other litigation mattersCoordinate with outside counsel as necessary for specialized legal issuesRisk Management:Identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with property management operationsDevelop and implement policies and procedures to reduce liability and improve complianceAdvisory Role:Provide legal advice to management and staff on a variety of issues affecting property and asset managementTrain employees on legal issues related to property management and compliance requirementsPolicy Development:Assist in the development of internal policies and procedures related to property management activitiesEnsure that company policies reflect current legal standards and best practicesQUALIFICATIONS:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in the State of CaliforniaStrong understanding of real estate law, landlord-tenant law, and compliance regulationsProven experience in contract negotiation and dispute resolutionExcellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWHAT WE OFFER:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and growthCollaborative and supportive work environmentWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
