JOB SUMMARYThe Lead of Tooling oversees a team of ten mold maintenance technicians, supervising the organization and maintenance oftools. Responsibilities include following mold requirements, preparing and inspecting molds, and keeping accurate records. Therole requires effective use of various tools, training technicians, supervising workloads, and collaborating with vendors and themolding team to resolve tooling issues. Overall, the Lead ensures operational efficiency and team development.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES· Leadership skills to oversee the team of ten mold maintenance technicians· High level of knowledge on tool assembly.· Maintaining the team's organization of tools and components· Follow IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements, as determined by the planner· Green-tag readied molds; move to the staging area in the molding department· Disassemble & clean molds; inspect for problems.· Install changeover parts, as required· Take measurements to determine wear & proper sizes of pins, bushings, and hold dimensions· Keep records up to date, including mold tagging system.· Other duties as assigned· Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment· Use had power tools, Bridgeport's, Grinders and lathes· Able to train other mold maintenance technicians· Able to use the Ice Blaster as required· Able to supervise and lead team workload· Able to work with outside vendors and create requisitions· Able to work with the molding team, press side.· Able to diagnose tooling/molding issuesEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS· High School diploma or equivalent· Minimum 8 years of experience working with industrial machinery and/or automotive in a mechanical aspect· Experience working with injection molds, preferred· Experience with forklift and pallet jack operation, preferredSKILLS & ABILITIES· Math and reading comprehension· Organizational skills related to tooling· Ability to read and understand work instructions· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English· Mechanical aptitude· Ability to utilize measurement equipment in the tool shop. Including but not limited to micrometers, CMMs preferred· Able to read 2D and 3D CADWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDSManufacturing environment.
