Role & Responsibilities:The Purchasing Manager, is responsible for overseeing the purchasing/supplier management activities for capital and spares of US based operations. This includes the responsibility for all industrial machinery products, components, and equipment. As a key leader of the business, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for executing the business plans and the strategic plans by promoting teamwork, personal responsibility, and driving ingenuity and productivity. Strong focus on the supplier management, supplier relationship, supplier development, and drive for innovation are key fundamental values for the Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Manager needs to have bias for action, entrepreneurial behavior, and be able to foster trust from all employees to be able to grow the business and achieve the next level of performance. The Purchasing Manager will report to the Managing Director of US operations with a dotted line to the CEO for global assignments as needed. He or she will need to work with global colleagues in Europe and Asia to drive cost reductions and efficiency through global sourcing and the purchasing of standardized materials. Direct reports will include a process engineer, purchasing associate, and materials & purchasing analysis.Qualifications, Skills, and Education Requirements5+ years' experience in a manufacturing operations positionHands on style of working, managing the team and developing oneself to become a resident expert ofcompany's manufacturing processes.Strong leadership skills to either drive or support global projects with colleagues from all functions in the Europe and Asia.Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills (in English)Strong analytical skills combined with working knowledge of Microsoft software tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) and ERP (Proficient in SAP)Track record of implementing and sustaining processes that result in exceptional quality products by process control and continuous improvement (i.e. Lean, 6 sigma, etc.) strong commitment to work place safety and providing leadership in safe practices to all team members.An independent, highly motivated, mentally flexible, and resilient personalityAbility to demonstrate values of leadership, innovation, sense of urgency and customer commitmentAbility to analyse, results-oriented; practical judgment, disciplined problem solvingProven track record of developing and implementing business objectives in a fast-paced, results oriented environment.Strong problem solving and decision-making abilityTeam-player with leadership ability and a goal-oriented personalityAbility to communicate, and socially highly competentAble to generate innovative "out-of-the-box" ideas and execute
