The Director of Risk Management will be responsible for the leadership, innovation, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, transfer, and monitor the Company's various exposures to risk. This position will oversee and strategically direct all risk management related activities. This position provides leadership, expertise and guidance to align, coordinate and share best practices, processes and programs across the Company.Rush Enterprises, Inc. opens the door to the world of opportunity. Grow with us as we continue to expand our network of locations and services.Responsibilities:Direct the Company's risk management programs, including property and casualty insurance programs, claims management, vendor insurance oversight, and corporate insurance certificate handling.Ensures appropriate risk assessments are conducted, and corresponding follow-ups are implemented.Negotiate and secure the most favorable terms, conditions, and pricing for all corporate insurance coverage, excluding employee benefits.Monitor coverage limits, confirm coverages, and manage additions and deletions of locations as needed. Ensure all insurance coverage remains current and meets Company requirements.Procure all required bonds, including dealership license bonds, bid and performance bonds, and warranty bonds.Oversee, audit, and conduct claims reviews of the Third-Party Claims Administrator (TPA) responsible for Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring timely processing and favorable outcomes for employees and the Company.Manage all claims for other insured lines of coverage. Coordinate claims settlements with insurers' claims adjustors.Review and approve all vendor insurance certificates for Company entities.Oversee the issuance of certificates of insurance for all Rush Enterprises Inc. and affiliate companies. Ensure compliance with certificate holders' terms and contractual requirements.Manage the Company insurance captive program.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business management, or related field preferred.Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management.Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation preferred; or willingness to obtain the designation within the first 12 months of employment.Experience preparing comprehensive insurance summaries and cost comparisons for management.Experience providing expert guidance on contractual insurance requirements for corporate contracts.Skills & Abilities:Ability to maintain records in accordance with standard business practices and relevant laws and regulations.Recommend modifications to contract-related insurance language to minimize risk exposure.Ensure timely completion of deadlines and renewals while upholding the highest ethical standards.Ability to collaborate with contract management personnel to ensure compliance with vendor insurance requirements.Interpret insurance language in bids and contracts for legal counsel and management as needed.Collaborate with internal managers and supervisors to provide expert advice on insurance, exposures, and relevant policies.Able to working closely with the legal department to ensure vendors/providers meet insurance requirements in bids and contracts.Evaluate new products or contracts with Operational Management to assess insurance coverage needs.Develop and implement policies and procedures relevant to the scope of the position.Benefits:We offer an exceptional Total Rewards package with outstanding healthcare benefits, a robust 401(k) plan with company matching, and an employee stock purchase program to help you build long-term financial security.
