Proper Hospitality is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage at Montauk Yacht Club, our 107-room luxury property within The Collective. Spanning 35 acres on Montauk's Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities. As the Director of Food & Beverage, you will be a strategic leader with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Your oversight will include all aspects of our food and beverage operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and profitability.Job Responsibilities: Strategic LeadershipDevelop and execute the food and beverage strategy in alignment with our property's objectivesContinuously analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for growth and improvementSet and achieve revenue and profitability targets while maintaining a strong focus on cost controlTeam ManagementRecruit, train, and mentor a team of talented culinary and service professionalsFoster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting colleague development and motivationEnsure all staff members adhere to high standards of service and professionalismDining Experience ExcellenceOversee the creation and execution of innovative and appealing menus in all food and beverage outletsMaintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation and guest satisfactionRegularly review guest feedback and take proactive steps to address any concerns or suggestionsFinancial ManagementDevelop and manage the annual food and beverage budgetMonitor financial performance, analyze variances and implement corrective actions as neededOptimize revenue through pricing strategies, promotions and upselling opportunitiesCompliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with all local health, safety and food handling regulationsImplement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards throughout the operationConduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and safetyEvent ManagementOversee the planning and execution of special events, banquets and private functionsCollaborate with the sales and marketing team to attract events and group bookingsEnsure flawless execution of events, exceeding guest expectationsVendor RelationshipsEstablish and maintain strong relationships with food and beverage suppliers and vendorsNegotiate contracts, manage deliveries, and monitor product quality and pricingIdentify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort settingStrong financial acumen with a proven track record of achieving revenue and profit targetsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsCreative and innovative mindset with a passion for culinary excellenceKnowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practicesAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidaysCompany OverviewProper Hospitality is made up of a diverse group of passionate individuals who share a common love for hotels and the art of hospitality.
