General Counsel -Long-term Care/Senior Living OperatorLakewood, New JerseyAbove-market reimbursementWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel to head up all legal affairs at a rapidly expanding Skilled Nursing operator, based out of New Jersey. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Furthermore, prior experience within the highly specialised fields of Long-term care, Senior Living, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation or Post-Acute care would be preferable. This organization has operations spanning over 30 facilities across 4 states, with plans and financing to double in size over the next 24 months.We require an Attorney with a deep understanding of various areas of law, including but not limited to workers compensation law, immigration law, environmental law, securities law, and estate planning. The General Counsel will play a critical role in shaping the legal strategy of the organization while mitigating risks and protecting its interests.DutiesProvide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues affecting the organization.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with legal standards.Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to stay informed about relevant laws and regulations.Advise on matters related to workers compensation, immigration, environmental regulations, and securities compliance.Oversee estate planning processes and ensure that all documentation is legally sound.Collaborate with various departments to identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.Represent the organization in negotiations and disputes as necessary.Stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact the organization's operations.RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.Proven experience in legal administrative roles with a focus on corporate law.Strong knowledge of workers compensation law, immigration law, environmental law, securities law, estate planning, and legal drafting.Excellent research skills with proficiency in using Lexis-Nexis or similar legal research tools.Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.This position offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced organization with ambitious, realistic growth plans.
