Program: ELCD Development CentersPay Type: ExemptReports To: Senior Director of ProgramsThe Co-Director is responsible for implementing the program's educational components and works closely with the other program director to manage the center-based program's daily operations. This role requires collaboration with staff to design and implement a developmentally appropriate program that meets funding requirements, licensing regulations, and agency standards, all while aligning with the mission, vision, and philosophy of One Hope United.Essential Job FunctionsEducation Program Development and ImplementationResponsible for identifying the child and family's educational program needs and developing a plan to ensure the implementation of OHU's educational program directions and goals.Assists staff in individualizing the curriculum, including implementing IEPs.Analyzes child outcomes quarterly to identify trends and areas of focus for ongoing educational services for enrolled children.Ensures compliance with regulatory, funding, and accrediting agency requirements.Works with the other assigned director to review Illinois State Board of Education contract deliverables needed for the grant.Oversees the child screening and assessment processes.Manages child transition policies, procedures, and systems.Actively participates in the process of obtaining NAEYC and maintaining accreditation for COA and quality rating through the Illinois ExceleRate system.Overseeing 04 teachers as the assigned instructional Coach.Staffing and Professional DevelopmentResponsible for a strategic staffing and professional development plan that ensures the high-quality performance standards of the agency, the National Academy for the Education of Young Children, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and other stakeholders.Provides training and technical assistance for teachers and center directors.Assists teachers in developing professional development plans.Maintains the record of staff qualifications.Participate in hiring new teaching staff.Provide input for staff evaluations.Ability to supervise and lead assigned staff (if applicable).Management of Financial ResourcesResponsible for coordinating the purchase of educational supplies, recommending appropriate equipment and supplies necessary to support the curriculum while remaining within budgetary guidelines.Reviews classroom inventories and orders for educational supplies to ensure appropriateness.Keeps abreast of opportunities for additional funding and grants that relate to education.Reviews the classroom inventories and orders for educational supplies to ensure appropriateness.Assists with managing staff and program expenses for enrollment.Professional Leadership and Community OutreachDeveloping ongoing relationships with professional, civic, and community groups for the advocacy of quality care and education.Develops relationships with community organizations, colleges, and universities that provide teacher education programs.Provides parent training/workshops related to the Curriculum and Educational Program for children.Pursues and achieves, at a minimum, an Illinois Director Credential, Level I.Provides program, classroom, and center staffing support as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned.Parent RelationsDevelopment of positive and supportive relationships with parents and families.Provides or coordinates workshops or training resources related to educational programs and curriculum.Serve as a resource to families to support children's early learning and development.Build respectful, culturally sensitive relationships with families.Communicates effectively with families through written and oral communication.Other ResponsibilitiesMay be required to support the site as acting program director and provide classroom coverage as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation/Credentials: B.A. degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related fieldDirector Credential Level 1 Required or start the application process to meet this requirement.Experience: Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.Minimum Requirements and Essential SkillsMaster's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Early Childhood field. Experience working with teachers, children, and families. Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.Excellent written skills.Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to analyze and interpret data to improve operational strategy.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
