Senior Benefits CoordinatorAtlanta, GA or Chicago, ILChicago salary range: $90,000 - $120,000, depending on experience A leading global AmLaw100 firm is seeking a Senior Benefits Coordinator to join its HR team in either Atlanta or Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced benefits professional to play a key role in the administration and continuous improvement of the firm's health, welfare, and retirement programs within a fast-paced, professional services environment.Working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors, this individual will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of employee benefits programs while delivering a high level of service and maintaining strong compliance and data integrity standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the administration of health and welfare plans, including eligibility, enrolments, life events, dependent verification, and employee inquiriesAssist with retirement plan operations, including 401(k) administration, payroll coordination, vendor management, and annual plan activitiesMaintain and audit benefits data within HRIS platforms, including Workday, ensuring accuracy across deductions, eligibility, and event processingCoordinate vendor integrations and benefit file feeds, troubleshooting issues and managing resolutions through completionSupport compliance initiatives, including required notices, documentation, audits, and governance processesPartner with Payroll and Finance on reconciliations, deductions, retroactive adjustments, and issue resolutionPrepare and maintain employee-facing benefits communications, FAQs, guides, and intranet contentAssist with open enrolment planning, testing, communications, and executionMaintain SOPs, process documentation, and identify opportunities to improve workflows and employee experienceCandidate ProfileBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience5+ years of benefits administration experience, ideally supporting both health and retirement programsStrong understanding of U.S. benefits administration, including eligibility, enrolment processes, COBRA/ACA concepts, and retirement plan operationsExperience working with external vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex benefits issuesStrong HRIS experience, with Workday preferredAdvanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivots, and data validationExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain benefits information clearly and professionallyAbility to handle highly confidential information with discretionCEBS or other benefits-related certification is advantageousPrior experience within a law firm or professional services environment is preferredStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-service environmentAdditional InformationFull-time opportunityOccasional travel may be requiredCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package on offerIf you are an experienced benefits professional looking to join a collaborative and highly regarded global organisation, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
