We strive to create a welcoming space for discovery, learning, and meaningful connection with art.Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented, personable, and art-passionate Gallery Assistant to join our team. This role is central to ensuring a warm and inviting gallery environment, supporting both our visitors and sales team. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, thrives in a collaborative environment, and enjoys engaging people in conversations about art.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and engage visitors, providing a welcoming and informative gallery experience.Assist in showing artwork and answering visitor and collector questions.Build thoughtful curations based on collector or advisor specifications.Support the sales team in helping collectors learn about, discover, and acquire artworks.Coordinate with collectors for purchases, pickups, and deliveries.Help prepare and assist with exhibitions, openings, and special events.Maintain accurate gallery inventory and ensure artworks are properly displayed and cared for.Create an inviting and professional environment for experiencing contemporary art.Provide general administrative and operational support to the gallery team as needed.QualificationsAbility to lift and carry 25lbs Ability to stand for long periodsPrior experience in a gallery, museum, or luxury retail setting preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to speak confidently about art.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.Proficiency in Google Workspace required; experience with Asana and Shopify a plus.A passion for contemporary art and supporting artists.
