Our client, a well-known luxury fashion brand, is seeking a RTW Soft Wovens Designer to join their team on a contract basis in New York City.Hours: Full-timeRESPONSIBILITIESCreates sketches and product prototypes throughout the conceptual design process Partners with Director to develop and refine seasonal concept, materials, and paletteAbility to come up with new innovative silhouettes within the brand aesthetic for soft woven dresses as well as occasional dresses. Responsible for upholding design integrity, high quality execution, and timeliness throughout the entire development process from concept through engineering and commercialization Partners cross-functionally with Merchandising and Product Development on regular basisParticipates in meetings with cross-functional category partners Ability to work independently and on multiple seasons at one time Adhere to seasonal and time and action calendars, ensuring that the category meets deadlines EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDEDDegree in Fashion Design or equivalent work experience Minimum 7 years of design experience Must provide digital portfolio of work Strong taste level, research skills, ability to identify silhouettes, pattern, and color within the Tory Burch aesthetic Strong hand sketching skills in addition to sketching technical drawings on illustratorAbility to drape new, interesting silhouettes as well as creating interesting new finishings Strong working knowledge of Centric PLM, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel Experience developing product directly with factories; understanding of development from concept through engineering Must be able to build all tech packs and pass specs in a detailed, organized, and clear manner for factory proto sample making Please submit your resume & portfolio for consideration!You can use to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose.
