Job Title: HR Generalist Location: New York City, NYEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: HR Director Position Overview:We are seeking a proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a true team player, capable of supporting a wide range of HR functions including onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, recruitment coordination, employee relations, and event planning. This is a great opportunity for a resourceful and self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full-cycle onboarding process for new hires, including offer letters, welcome packets, orientation scheduling, equipment coordination, and benefits enrollmentCoordinate employee offboarding, exit interviews, and benefits terminationsAssist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate timesheets, PTO tracking, and benefits deductionsSupport benefits administration (health, dental, vision, 401k, commuter, life/disability) and serve as a liaison between employees and providersTrack and process invoices for HR-related vendors and services using AvidDraft job descriptions, memos, employee communications, and HR templatesMaintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local lawsPost job openings, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and assist in recruitingPlan and coordinate internal events such as monthly birthdays, health & wellness fairs, and holiday partiesCollaborate with IT, Accounting, and Operations teams for cross-departmental HR supportAssist in union compliance reporting, audits, and documentationProvide general HR support to employees in New York and Chicago officesAdditional ad hoc projects as needed Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field2-4 years of experience in an HR generalist or coordinator roleStrong understanding of HR best practices and employment lawExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilityProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ADP Workforce Now Experience with invoice processing systems (e.g., Avid) preferredEvent coordination experience is a plusWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageOpportunity to grow and advance within a supportive HR teamCollaborative and respectful company cultureA chance to make a real impact in a tight-knit organizationAmTrustRE is an equal-opportunity employer.
