Candidates must have strong technical abilities and experience working in a multidisciplinary team through the entire project process from inception to completion.MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITYGenerate conceptual designs that meet the needs of our clientsProduce building plans/designs utilizing various softwareContribute design support and input to design teamMaintain design budgets and meet client schedulesResponsible for code complianceCoordinate designs with architectural materials, mechanical and electrical systems, etc.Attend meetings to understand objectives of clientsResponsible for presenting designs to clientsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducationBachelor's Degree from an accredited universityA professional license to practice architecture, preferredKnowledge and SkillsCreative ability with strong design skillsComplete command of architectural materials, mechanical/electrical systems, etc.Ability to read architectural drawingsGood drafting skills, color, and composition senseStrong work ethicExceptional communication skills with internal team and external clientsExcellent collaboration abilityProficiency in AutoCAD/RevitPrevious ExperienceAt least 10 years of relevant experienceK-12 and College/University market experienceSports/Recreation market experiencePerforming Arts market experienceLEED Accredited (Preferred)ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands of this position are primarily sedentary in nature. The job is performed primarily while sitting at a desk or in meetings with others. There may be prolonged use of a keyboard and computer. There may be occasions when there is a need to lift items weighing 10 pounds although rarely. Some additional lifting and physical exertion may be required due to the routine requirements of travel.TRAVEL REQUIREDSome travel required throughout the State of Michigan as well as bordering statesDISCLAIMERThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to this job.
