We are looking for a Meat Cutter to join our Team!Some of the responsibilities include:Break down beef, pork, poultry, or other meat products into various cutsWeigh out portions for saleWrap and package products for saleGrind meat products for sale as necessaryProperly sanitize all equipment with disinfectantFollow all safety guidelinesCuts, trims, and prepares meat for sale to customers. Receives and fulfills custom orders. Packages and displays meat. Labels meat to indicate cut, grade, preparation date, best-by date, and other relevant information.Meat Cutter Requirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED certificate preferredPrior meat cutting experience or training strongly preferredKnife skillsBandsaw experienceBasic math skillsKnowledgeable about various cuts of meat and proper cooking techniquesAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand for up to 8 hoursCutters will cut and trim meat from larger, wholesale portions into steaks, chops, roasts, and other cuts. They then prepare meat for sale by performing various duties, such as weighing meat, wrapping it, and putting it out for display. In retail stores, they also wait on customers and prepare special cuts of meat upon request.Shift:We are open 7 days a week, 9am to 6pm, including all holidays except Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. We are looking for a full-time Meat cutter (about 40-45 hours per week) or a part-time Meat Cutter. Shifts are either 8am-2pm/3pm (morning), 1pm-7pm (afternoon), or 8am-7pm ("all day").Weekend availability is required.
