Job Title: Traveling Superintendent - Commercial Construction / Retail & Restaurant ProjectsLocation: Primarily traveling within CA, WA, OR, ID, AZ, CO, NV1 day/week in Long Beach, CAType: Full-TimeCompensation: $100,000-$120,000/year + travel reimbursements and phone stipend Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee retail and restaurant construction projects. This role is 90% travel, managing multiple sites across the Western U.S., while maintaining a strong presence onsite for project oversight, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams. Key Responsibilities:Provide on-site leadership for construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and schedule standardsOversee and coordinate subcontractors, service techs, and vendors (HVAC, electrical, etc.) across multiple job sitesCommunicate professionally with clients, architects, vendors, and project stakeholdersDevelop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules and coordinate with trade partnersInterpret and enforce compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contractsManage submittals, RFI responses, inspections, and quality control effortsDocument daily logs, progress photos, and project reportsAttend weekly project and subcontractor meetingsPrepare and submit progress reports, change orders, and punch listsPartner with Project Management for structured project close-outImplement best practices to enhance project delivery and team efficiencyQualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial or retail construction projects, preferably in restaurant or retail spacesExperience managing multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environmentStrong leadership, multitasking, and time management skillsExcellent communication and relationship management abilitiesProficiency with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practicesWillingness to travel extensively across multiple states, including weekends as required
