This is a high-impact, on-site role based in Clear Lake (Houston area), with flexibility to work from a satellite office if located further north. The position offers direct collaboration with executive leadership and project teams, playing a key role in shaping legal strategy and ensuring compliance across all operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreementsManage legal claims, disputes, and outside counsel relationshipsOversee insurance and bonding processes, including audits, builder's risk coverage, and credit applicationsEnsure subcontractor compliance with insurance and risk standardsDevelop and implement risk mitigation strategies based on project trends and historical dataMaintain legal records, approve invoices, and support vendor onboarding and documentationQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in Texas (preferred)Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in construction law, contracts, insurance, and risk managementStrong understanding of construction safety regulations, bonding, and compliance requirementsProven ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesExcellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skillsCollaborative mindset with a strategic approach to legal and business challenges
