OVERVIEWWe are looking for a motivated individual that has both strong communication and interpersonal abilities. A leader with strong risk assessment, attention-to-detail, and knowledge of emergency preparedness and response. This role is located at our office in Bethlehem, PA, but will require occasional travel in excess of 50 miles. GENERAL INFORMATIONWork is conducted in both indoor office settings and outdoor construction jobsite settings. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday between 7:30AM to 4:30PM. Some flexibility required to meet coverage in a small business office. No routine weekend hours.JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIESOversees required safety training for all field electricians and technicians and works with the Superintendent to verify that field personnel are adequately trained for the project environment.Develops, maintains and improves safety related standard operating procedures, systems and processes to improve results and ensure compliance with state and federal recordkeeping requirements. Complete prequalification requests with regards to Company Safety Program. Support our General Foreman/Foremen in development of Job Hazard Analyses and an overall Project Safety Roadmap/Site Safety Plans (as applicable). Evaluate effectiveness of safety programs through random job site visits. Assist in attaining regulatory compliance and audit oversight. Meet regularly with field personnel and assist them in the development of project specific corrective action plans to address safety issues and concerns. Provide regular feedback to job site supervision in a constructive manner in identifying needed areas for safety improvement and recognition. Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors. Develop site specific safety orientation content in conjunction with project leadership, Safety Committee and Training Committee. Assist with delivery of jobsite specific safety orientations for new employees joining the project, as applicable. Conduct or facilitate safety training, testing and record keeping for all employees (Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tag out, HazCom etc.). Coordinate with Safety Committee and Training Committee. Support Project Supervision and Company Management Team in completion of incident investigations. Provide regular feedback to Management Team on areas requiring improvement and identify those deserving of recognition. Assist in the development of project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues occurring in the field. Meet regularly with the Construction Managers / Owners' safety manager(s) and participate in overall project safety as well as appropriate field management ASAP to ensure proper post incident case management.Facilitate/manage all injury/illness cases. Ensure job site emergency protocol is understood by job site supervision. Monitor and evaluate subcontractor compliance with applicable rules, regulations and project safety requirements. Perform periodic evaluations of power tools and equipment (i.e. scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fall protection, motor operated equipment, etc.) to ensure equipment is being maintained in good working order, as applicable. Support Project Leadership in the development and execution of weekly toolbox safety meetings. Ensure that safety meetings (toolbox talks) are conducted weekly on all job sites. Audit for continuity of topics to be discussed. Evaluate the ability of the foreman to convey safety information and provide coaching as needed as well as the participation of the crew and/or whether the foreman gave them an opportunity to participate. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAn Associates or Bachelor's degree in environmental health, safety discipline or related field preferred. 5+ years in construction safety management preferably in the electrical safety space.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification, OSHA 500 Construction Training Certificate and CPR/FA Certificate a must.Knowledgeable of electrical industry consensus standards such as NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI.Experience in claims management a plus (CCIP/OCIP/general insurance claims) Experience with union workforce desired Experience in managing other safety coordinators Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with ability to influence behaviors Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)BENEFITSEligible for Company Profit Sharing Plan after first year.Medical, Dental and Vision Health BenefitsInsurance Benefits including Life and Short-term Disability.Continued Education for Trainings & Certifications.Paid Time OffPaid Holidays
