Front Desk Coordinator - Behavioral Health ClinicMake a Difference Every Day at Bleuler Psychotherapy CenterAre you organized, compassionate, and passionate about helping others? Bleuler Psychotherapy Center, a respected nonprofit mental health and substance use clinic in Forest Hills, NY, is looking for a Front Desk Coordinator to join our welcoming front office team.In this key role, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients. You'll greet them, help them navigate appointments and insurance, and support smooth daily operations in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.What You'll DoWarmly welcome and assist clients and visitorsCheck in clients, process co-pays, schedule appointments, and manage follow-upsRegister new clients and update demographic and insurance detailsMonitor and maintain a calm, organized waiting room experienceCommunicate appointment delays and coordinate with clinicians to support patient flowSend reminders and manage rescheduling for NP and MD appointmentsProvide Medicaid travel reimbursement (MetroCard or cash) via PTARVerify insurance coverage and communicate updates to clients and staffRecord cash and MetroCard transactions in daily logsAnswer and route incoming phone calls and handle general inquiriesAssist prescribers with schedules, pharmacy coordination, and prior authorizationsProcess client records requests; scan, fax, mail, and upload documents as neededSupport office maintenance and safety proceduresMaintain client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAAWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferredCompletion of a Medical Administrative Assistant program is a plus1+ year of experience in a mental health, medical, or outpatient setting preferredFamiliarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Microsoft OfficeStrong customer service and communication skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environmentBilingual in Spanish is a plusWhat You'll Need to SucceedFriendly, respectful demeanor and excellent interpersonal skillsStrong time management, attention to detail, and multitasking abilityFamiliarity with health insurance billing and transportation reimbursement policiesComfort using phones, fax, scanners, copiers, and emailAbility to handle sensitive situations and escalate appropriatelyWillingness to cover teammate shifts and adjust schedule as neededWhy Join Bleuler?Founded in 1949, Bleuler Psychotherapy Center has proudly served the Queens community for over 70 years.
