Physician Assistant - Neurology (Nights / Weekends)

A hospital in NYC is seeking a dedicated, licensed Physician Assistant to join their Neurology eam for Night and Weekend coverage. The position involves 12.5-hour shifts with a manageable patient load of 3-5 patients per PA.ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day management of patients with acute neurologic conditions including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries, and post-operative neurosurgical casesServe as a primary provider in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit alongside NeurointensivistsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, stroke, epilepsy, palliative care, pulmonary critical care, and other subspecialtiesPerform clinical procedures such as blood draws, arterial line placement, and central line placementAssist in the management of external ventricular drains and intracranial pressure monitorsCoordinate patient disposition including transfers, discharges to rehab/nursing facilities, or discharge home.Communicate with family members and participate in family meetingsQualificationsNYS Physician Assistant (PA) licenseBoard Eligible / Certified Experience in Neurology and/or Critical Care settingsACLS and BLS certifications
