We have built a successful and diverse portfolio of projects over the past 4 decades with projects ranging from high end residential, commercial, railroad, greenhouses, and many more. We are a company who has a set crew of Carpenters who will self-perform specific scopes of work and then we have well established relationships with our subcontractors for specialty trades and work.Requirements:10+ years of Construction Estimating ExperienceCollege Degree in related fieldJob description:The Estimator will work as part of a team and will manage and generate estimates for all bidding efforts, either collectively with the team or individually. They will be required to:Perform detailed quantity take-offs to determine accurate scope of work; organize the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimateReview and estimate/budget scope of work based on drawing & construction documentsObtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price; creating and maintaining relationships for current and future workResponsible for calculating labor, material and all other costs associated with a project to use for actual bid, and to cross reference subcontractor numbers coming in as a checks and balancesCreate and submit proposals to clients within the specified timeframe and keep open communication with clients during bid processResponsible for managing and prioritizing multiple estimates/projectsCreate and execute sub contractsDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendorsResponsible for building full conceptual cost estimates from architectural drawings/renderingsExperience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the Owner while maintaining a high level of construction qualityMust be able to confidently negotiate throughout the bidding processMust be confident in doing quantity take-off'sMust be familiar with bidding both private and public projects and capable in working with conceptual plans to help establish final designs.Must be able to review and understand the scope of workManage trade coverageOversight of MWBE compliance and coveragePrepare cost analysis in computer by outlining material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items and organizing them on company serverAttend walk throughs as neededDesign build experience a plus
