The Mechanical Piping Superintendent oversees installation of mechanical piping systems and components and equipment in various settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role involves managing field crews, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. The Superintendent must be adept at troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and providing technical guidance to the team. Steam and condensate, and hydronics system proficiency is a plus. This role reports the General Superintendent of the division. Duties/Responsibilities:Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in various settingsExperience in Food Processing FacilitiesEnsure that projects meet established safety and quality standards within the allocated budget and timelinePlan, coordinate, and supervise multiple work crews and all assigned employees on those teamsCoordinate work with other disciplines on the job to ensure that all work is handled as efficiently as possibleCreate daily reports, track progress, submit timesheets, and complete other administrative duties as required to accurately track performance and progressInspect and verify work in progress and ensure that all employees and subcontractors are working productively and safelyInterpret drawings accurately and ensure that all equipment is installed properlyEnsure compliance with safety standards and regulationsOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipmentPiping/Boilers, Steam, Air, GasExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressureProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsAbility to manage project timelines and resources effectivelyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in various environmental conditionsProficiency with relevant project management software and toolsCommitment to safety and compliance with regulationsEducation/Experience:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred, or equivalent prior work experience in a related field Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical piping construction or a similar industryOSHA 30-hour certification requiredProven track record of managing large-scale projects successfullyIn-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance protocols, and safety standardsStrong leadership and team management skillsTravel Requirements:Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwideAbility to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and eventsPhysical Requirements:Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to stand and walk for long periods of timeBend, kneel, and crouch for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive movementsAbility to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areasAbility to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 poundsAdequate vision to perform all required tasksWork on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftopsComfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safelyStrong sense of balance and spatial awareness
