Project ManagerUrbandale or Pella, IowaSUMMARYAs a Project Manager with Pella Corporation, you will define and plan projects while facilitating teams through the execution of the projects as documented by schedule, budget, and scope artifacts. This role will lead teams through influence and ensure members comply with approved workflow and process steps while performing the planned work. The Project Manager is the voice of the project for updates and reviews with various levels of management and fields questions from all stakeholders as needed. This is a highly visible role that helps optimize the portfolio and is critical for the successful and predictable execution of our strategic business goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Chair multiple cross-functional project meetings.Identify and hold the teams accountable to meet the key success metrics for multiple large and small projects and programs. Collaborate cross-functionally to refine and execute project and program plans.Establish a positive network of key sponsors and stakeholders to build trust and steer project execution.Support and contribute to the evolution of PMO processes and practices.Contribute to portfolio optimization activities to maximize value delivery to customers and the business.Mentor peers and junior team members on Project Management practices.The position requires periodic domestic travel by air and car monthly.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESMay directly manage 1-2 Project SpecialistsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Degree from a credited university in a business or technical field of study required.Knowledge of core PMI project management terms and techniques required.PMP Certification is a plus but not required. Experience in applying project management practices to lead project teams required.Proven experience influencing teams and collaborating with sponsors and stakeholders at all levels within the organization. Proficient in M.S. PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Experience with project and portfolio management tools a plusAbility to:Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Think logically and apply advanced mathematical concepts to problem solving. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Define and follow defined workflow and processes.Identify and develop improvements to PMO workflow and processes.Balance multiple assignments at once.Facilitate and lead cross-functional and cross departmental teams.Coach and mentor team members on project management, development practices, and business dynamics.
