This position is expected to maintain a friendly and professional work environment with employees and supervisors, motivate others with energy and enthusiasm for the business, and proactively plan and execute benefits initiatives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministers employee health and welfare benefit programs; medical, dental, vision, group insurance, life, accident, disability and COBRA.Conducts benefit orientations and assists with enrollments; counsel employees on benefit plan options ensuring informed benefit decisions at all levels.Act as liaison with insurance carriers, resolving administrative problems with carrier representatives, serving as the first point of contact with the third-party administrator, and fostering effective relationships with representativesAssist employees in updating their records through the Employee Self Service Portal and ensure accurate data in HRIS regarding benefit plan changes, new deductions or life changing events.Develop communications using positive and proactive campaigns to maximize participation and program effectiveness. Educate employees about the company's benefit plans, programs and proposed changes.Manage and monitor performance of carriers, vendors, auditors, advisors and consultants for services and plan administration.Manages Leave of Absences and maintains records according to state and federal regulations.Manage leaves end-to-end; initial intake of leave, initial and ongoing communication to TPAFacilitate communication between Benefits, Human Resources and payroll for benefit, and leave situationsAssists with the Company's Wellness initiatives; makes recommendations, assists in implementations, leads initiatives, supports overall goalsAdminister Flexible Spending Accounts; healthcare, dependent care, commuter and parking programsPrepare and maintain benefits reporting, new benefits eligible enrollments, termed and absentee reports, new deduction changes and bi-weekly benefits audits.Prepare and maintain employee benefit files; assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.Ensure compliance is being met for the following benefit programs: group medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, voluntary life and disability, short term disability, long term disability, health and dependent care, flexible spending accounts, COBRA, 401k and any other enhanced benefit plans offered by the Company.Manages open enrollment, which includes but is not limited to creating and overseeing project plan timelines, creating communication materials, testing online enrollment system, conducting open enrollment meetings, developing cost strategy, communication roll-out, employee enrollment, vendor file feeds, along with back-end clean-up.Coordinate benefit plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions.Processes monthly insurance billing; conducts reconciliation process ensuring accuracy of participant enrollment and terminations are reflected. Conducts monthly/quarterly audits on the Company's retirement plan and reports matching contributions to finance on an annual basis.Track, monitor and report on employee eligibility under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to ensure qualified employees are offered medical benefits under the ACAProcess and submit year-end ACA reporting (Forms 1095C and 1094C)Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.QualificationsStrong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.3 - 5 years of benefits or benefits administration experience in a corporate environment; retail highly preferredBachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent relevant experienceCurrent knowledge of competitive compensation and benefit programsPrevious experience in leave managementDemonstrated ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlinesExperience in Word, Excel, ADP HRB and other applicable database programs helpfulCompetenciesEnsure Effective Communication - Listens carefully and attentively to others' opinions and ideas.
